Throughout the entire Restoring Wholeness support group it was a process of putting my addiction on a discuss-able level. The main fear in the healing process is talking about it, and the only way that God could help me on the path to recovery, was if I put my problem out in the open to be seen. Power comes when you admit and look for the root causes of the problem. Don’t get me wrong I still have a long journey ahead, but this class allowed that journey to be manageable. It provided a foundation of friends who are going through the same thing and mentors that will never leave your life.

The class had an inherent gravity that made me want to come back each week and continue to put my addiction at God’s feet. I have loved every minute of the class and plan on returning next semester, so that I can continue on this path and come closer and closer to relinquishing what can only be described as a controlling mentality that I have with my life. A scripture that I like to embody in my life is Proverbs 21:31 “The horse is made ready for the day of battle, but victory rests in the Lord.” You can prepare all your equipment for the battle but victory solely rests on who you put in charge of your life. This class has really brought that back around on me to allow this scripture be a model for my life.
