“One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!”
John 9:25b –
For those of us who have lived a homosexual lifestyle and have decided to walk away from it and embrace what we believe to be a God-honoring life…may I say personally that I have experienced something life-defining. One story in the New Testament tells about the man who was blind from birth and Jesus healed him. The religious authorities called him and his parents to account for his miraculous change…his answer was, “…One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!” This is my personal story as well. I am happy and at peace.
Everyone must decide for themselves. Restoring Wholeness is not a ministry that condemns or judges anyone. That job is left to God Himself and no one else. We believe that IF someone wants to walk away from same-sex attraction or any life controlling issue and asks for support and encouragement…they must be given the freedom to do so…just like those who have th freedom to follow a life of homosexuality. God has given us all the power of choice…to believe, do and be what we want to – with what God has given each of us personally. If God is who He says He is then He has all power to enlighten and teach us His Truth. He is our Source and anything outside Him can easily be misconstrued.
For us the Bible is the Holy Word of God and to stand on it we must trust His Holy Spirit to confirm it to us. The only substantial foundation we have is God’s Word to us…and the closer we come in a personal relationship to Jesus Christ the more we let go of our selfish, narcissistic desires to be right. Jesus calls us to lay down our life as He did. For us humans that is not an easy task…but it is not impossible! Matthew 19:26 – Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
