Oh the Wonder of Your Ways

Oh the wonder of your ways!
Like a desperate starving man
I first begrudgingly sought you out;
You met me with grace and food.

Oh the wonder of your ways!
Did I remain with you, God?
No I fled from your presence,
Returning to the empty nothings.

Oh the wonder of your ways!
I remembered as you wooed me,
Increasing my hunger for true bread;
To whom else but you could I turn?

Oh the wonder of your ways!
As I remain present to you in faith,
Appetite for more strangely grows,
You drawing me out to seek you.

Oh the wonder of your ways!
As I walk awake and alive in faith
I feel the pains, griefs and loss
Among the sea of the living dead.

Oh the wonder of your ways!
The blessed knowledge of Truth,
Within the Living Flame of God,
Ebbs and flows through me.

Oh the wonder of your ways!
My awareness and attention wanes,
And your gaze is set to provoke me,
Hemming me in to not wander far.

Oh the wonder of your ways!
Generously granting your wisdom,
You lead me in faithfulness to act;
Making me a sign of your grace.
