LOOKING FORWARD TO THE ADVENTURE AHEAD!
by Wynn Cameron Thompson

Happy 2026 to each of you!
We trust our Father to surround and fill you with everything you need—body, soul, and spirit!

Lately, I’ve been doing some pondering—looking back over the years at all that God has done in my life. Honestly, some of it has been nothing short of miraculous. Then, one thought the Father dropped into my heart stopped me in my tracks. You’d think, after all these years, nothing would surprise me quite like that word: focus.

Our Father always knows exactly what we need and when we need it. Even now, I find myself reminded that I still have needs—chief among them, the need to depend on hearing God’s voice for direction.

I remember clearly, many years ago in South Africa, God interrupted my busy schedule and said, “It’s time to focus on the adventure I’ve given you.” Actually, He said it twice. I suppose I didn’t listen the first time! The second reminder came through my Restoring Wholeness Board, who saw that I was burning out. I had taken on more than my mind and body could handle, and the signs were showing. I was worn out, getting sick, and losing balance. God knew exactly what I needed—and, as always, He made sure I heard Him.

So as we step into 2026, before we rush to make our plans and goals for the year, may I encourage us to pause—to listen for our Father’s voice. Hearing and following Him is the most important thing we can do to keep our focus, maintain balance, to stay on the right path, and to walk safely and securely in His footsteps.

Suggested Scriptures

  • Psalm 18:2 – God is our rock, fortress, and deliverer—our safe place of refuge.
  • Psalm 91:1–2 – Those who dwell in His shelter rest under His shadow, declaring, “He is my refuge and my fortress.”
  • Proverbs 3:23–26 – Walking in His ways brings peace, safety, and confidence—no fear, no stumbling.
  • Isaiah 41:10 – “Do not fear, for I am with you… I will strengthen you and uphold you with My righteous right hand.”

Together, these verses remind us that when we trust God fully, we walk in peace, protection, and lasting security.
